Thoughts from the front lines | Part 1
Many of my clients are serving on the front lines of this pandemic, and I wanted to share a little about them.
Ali came to me for a boudoir session and now has booked her maternity session with me! She is an incredible woman, rock climber, adventure seeker, and soon to be a mama.
I asked her to send me a little blurb of how she was handling things right now; please take a read.
“The most challenging thing about being a healthcare professional during this pandemic is uncertainty. My entire career, I have had the confidence that I could provide patients with the best care possible, and I now feel that confidence slipping away.
I watch people fight critical illness and injury without their loved ones at the bedside. I find myself wondering if we will have enough ventilators, enough hospital beds, enough masks, enough face shields. I find myself worrying about an outbreak among healthcare workers, as it would stress the system even more. We are constantly adjusting to this fluid situation, and there is no knowing when the curve will flatten.
Yet, in these trying times, I have had a shift in perspective. I am now so grateful every day; I wake up feeling healthy, with food to eat, and with no illness among my friends and family. I recognize how lucky I am to work with such amazing colleagues. And although I will continue to do whatever I can to keep myself, my family, and my unborn child safe, I am proud to provide care and comfort to those who need it the most. “
Take care of yourselves out there!
The business has slowed down since I am not considered essential, but I can tell you that I am SO excited to get back to photographing all you beautiful people.
